Last-
The last describes the general
shape and construction of the sneaker. It may be straight, curved,
or semi-curved in shape and can be slip stitched, board constructed, or
a combination of these two types of construction. In general, slip
stitching is more accommodating and allows for motion and flexibility
while board construction is very rigid and controlling. Last shape
should be chosen based on the foot shape and really describes the
relation of the metatarsals and phalanges to to the rear-foot.
Foot
Frame-
The foot frame is an
extension of the mid-sole around the upper to help in accommodating the
mid-foot conformity.
**Note: There are many other additions
and features of sneakers, which are individual to manufacturers and are
typically described on their websites. Some featured websites are
listed at the end of this article for reference.
