Dean is a graduate of New York University and has over 13 years of experience in the field
of physical therapy. He specializes in research and rehabilitation of orthopedic and
sports related injuries of the knee and shoulder. Dean lectures and has published articles
on evaluative and rehabilitative techniques with a manual and functional approach.

Steve Lyon, MPT,

Assistant Director
Steve holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond
and completed his Masters of Physical Therapy (MPT) at Temple
University. An ex-professional beach volleyball player with many
shoulder injuries, helped Steve to become interested in the PT
field. Steve brings some acute care experience in addition to his 3
years spent working in an outpatient clinic. He has also had
training in holistic shoulder rehabilitation, the Mulligan concept, and
McKenzie technique.

Marc Nowak, MSPT

Marc brings nearly twenty years of experience to SPTI, receiving his BA in
Biology from LaSalle University, and his MSPT from Arcadia University.
He
has extended his skills to outpatient, corporate, school, and athletic
department settings. Clinically, Marc approaches physical therapy
using PNF; muscle energy techniques; mobilizations such as McKenzie,
Maitland, and Norwegian training techniques; Swiss Ball stabilization;
and functional exercises. As the Director of Clinical Education,
Marc holds weekly in-services for our staff members that keep our therapists
and aides up to date with their clinical skills.

Bill Egan,
DPT, OCS

Staff Therapist
Bill brings an array of experience to Sports PT. He is a graduate of
Rutgers University and earned is Masters in Physical Therapy from Baylor
University through the U.S. Army. Bill recently received his
Doctorate of PT from Regis University. He earned the prestigious
specialization, Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2002, along with a Fellowship in Manual
Therapy through Regis University. Bill is currently a full time faculty
member of Temple University's Physical Therapy Program, where he teaches a
variety of classes. Bill emphasizes manual therapy including
joint mobilization, manipulation, muscle energy, muscle stretching and
soft tissue techniques. He is particularly interested in the
rehabilitation of the spine and is an active member of the Orthopedic
Section of the APTA.

Cynthia Garrity, DPT

Clinical Instructor/Staff Therapist
Cindy Garrity received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arcadia
University. She also earned two Bachelors Degrees (Biology and Classical
Studies) from Villanova University. A semi-professional dancer for several
years, Cindy is very interested in rehabilitation of dance injuries. In
addition to sports and orthopedic rehab, she would also like to become
more involved in neurological rehab. Cindy uses a variety of manual skills
in treating patients, including PNF patterns, manual muscle techniques,
and soft tissue mobilization. Cindy is an active member of the APTA.

Brian

Staff Therapist
Brian earned his Bachelor of Science
degree in Exercise Science from Rutgers University. He received his
Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Medicine and
Dentistry of New Jersey. Along with his many years as a PT aide with
Sports PT, Brian brings experience in occupational rehabilitation, acute
care, school-based pediatrics, and outpatient orthopedics. Brian is also
a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). In addition to
sports and orthopedic rehabilitation, he is also interested in injury
prevention training and looks forward to developing training programs
for athletes. His manual skills include Maitland, Myofascial release, and PNF techniques.

Ray
is a graduate of the Mercer County College Physical Therapy Assistant
Program.
He
has extensive experience in outpatient orthpedics and sports- related
injuries. Ray utilizes an approach that combines traditional and
non-traditional methods and likes to incorporate myofascial release and
soft tissue work. Areas of interest lie in sports rehabilitation,
sub-acute and acute inpatient care, pediatrics, orthopedic, aquatic
therapies. and even animal rehabilitation. Of particular interest to Ray
is sport-specific rehab for swimming and gymnastics.

Angela Andre,

Angela holds a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Physiology/Physical
Education as well as a Certificate in Nutrition from William Paterson
University. She then earned her Associates Degree in the Physical
Therapist Assistant Program at Union County College. Angela brings
experience in both in- and out-patient care and school based pediatrics.
She is looking forward to expanding her abilities in manual based Physical
Therapy, including PNF, soft-tissue mechanics, myofascial release, deep
tissue massage, and sports-specific rehab. She is currently an
active member of the APTA and is planning on becoming certified by the
National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified
Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
